Okay , it's not really a dilemma. He's adamant about wanting a chocolate mousse cake and I don't really care if we have cake or not. Many young women have strong feelings about the traditional confectionery offering but--speaking as someone who never planned on becoming a "Mrs." as a child--I have none.
The compromise is that since my husband-to-be is in love with the cake made at a local restaurant, Marie Louise Bistro, he gets to purchase three of their sinfully decadent chocolate mousse cakes and deliver them to the gazebo on June 20th. Not only do we save about $300 on a traditional cake, but he gets exactly what he wants; and I get a happy new husband. Problem solved!
