Holy smoke!I just met Romesh Ranganathan. There I am at 17:00, sitting at the bar of the Atrium Restaurant of the President Hotel, and a guy strolls up and orders a pint of Camden Hells lager. My head turns, and I know that face. So I engage him in conversation...'Is that good?" I ask trying to keep him talking. It's alright, it's his second. Apparently he's killing time between one thing and another. I let him go to his table and immediately follow. You're Romesh, you are one of my favorite comedians...I was hoping to catch you while you were in the US...blah blah, blah. I finished with something else inane. Rather than bug him for a photo, I decided to leave him to have his drink in peace. It's the least I could do.
Unfortunately, what I should have said, over everything else was this, Romesh's comedy kept me and hubby sane during months of COvid-19 lock down.
We often made time to catch old standup clips or see a few minutes of he and his mum on Zoom. Laughter helps:
