I saw a great tutorital on making a faux leather bag online months ago. While I have tons of scrap leather and would love to give this a shot, I'm not that motivated. Since then, I've bookmarked a lot of different DIY bag tuts and I'm really beginning to love the "gift bag" style. Check out this paper toned one I just found online, it's more of a shopping bag, but you get my point:
A recent shopping trip yielded a great find, this cute gift bag size and shape, with the added bonus of a tribal pattern embossed and dyed onto the surface. I spent $5 on this a a local thrift store and I have NO regrets!
